Generator Services & Maintenance

At Maze Electric, we provide complete service for air-cooled, liquid-cooled, and diesel standby generators. We are full-line Generac and Kohler dealers, offering sales, installation, service, maintenance, and warranty work, and we also service Briggs & Stratton and Cummins generators. Our maintenance service is a thorough inspection of the entire standby power system, including both the generator and transfer switch. A certified technician is typically on site for approximately 2.5 hours to change the oil, oil filter, spark plugs, and air filter, adjust the valves as needed, and perform a 16-point inspection. We check communication wiring and critical bolts and connections to make sure everything remains properly terminated after a year of vibration. We then simulate a power outage and run the generator under full load to confirm the system starts, transfers, and operates properly. Maze Electric also maintains a detailed service log for warranty and service history. Customers can also choose our yearly prepaid maintenance membership, which provides a service discount and allows our staff to contact you directly to schedule your maintenance appointment.

Generator Installation

Every generator installation begins with a free in-home consultation with a certified technician or electrician. During the visit, we determine the best generator location based on applicable code requirements and evaluate the transfer switch, outdoor disconnects, gas piping, cabling, home size, appliances, and the homeowner's backup-power needs. Once the system is properly sized and an installation plan is established, we can also assist customers with financing when desired or needed. Maze Electric handles the entire installation process in-house, including coordination with the power company, natural gas or propane provider, required inspections, delivery of the generator and materials, physical installation, startup, and generator registration. We do not use subcontractors for generator installations. That means one company is responsible for the project from beginning to end, giving our customers a single point of contact and ensuring Maze Electric stands behind the work and addresses any issue that may arise.
